Call for Rapid Climate Change and Global Warming Alleviation

A Call for Rapid Climate Change and Global Warming Alleviation

Human industrialist and capitalism activities has extensively contributed to the adverse negative changes to normal gobal climate and enivronment.

If we do not act now to reduce the effects of our daily activities on the environment, then there will be insufficient habitable space for our children, we will be killing our children before the are given birth too. This I would say is a form of GENOCIDE that we all are commiting.

Adverse effects of global warming, from our increasing green house gas emissions are as follows; rapid ice melting, increased ocean volume, flooding, rapid soil water evaporation, drought, massive sun ray absorption and retention, scarcity of fresh drinkable water, depleting lakes and streams, decreasing biodiversity and extinction, depleting socio-economic resources(i.e fishing, farming, food, trees) especially in underdeveloped economies, diseases, choas, mass migration, hurricane etc.

Sure we all know what high demand from increasing population and a constantly decreasing supply of resources can result in humanities survival shock. Download Presentation

Some of us may still see the call for gobal warming alleviation as science fiction, but be assured this is no joke. It would suprise you that distortion in atmospheric temperatures and water cycle can immensely be disasterous

Its high time we start adopting GREEN SOLUTIONS. Evironmental friendly approaches of living is the only way forward.

Africa Tackling Poverty : UN MPI 2013 Data

Tackling World Poverty --- Multidimensional Poverty Index(MPI) - 2013
An index point calculated for various countries, after due analysis of data that represents the Health, Educational and Living Standard  deprivation intensity within the country. This derived index value determines the poverty level ranking.

Briefing
In tackling poverty we need to identify and understand the major factor contributing to world poverty.
The three major dimensions or deprivation factors (i.e.  health, Education, living standard) have been identified by United Nations(UN),

Research Question
Which factor is more significance in accounting for MPI ranking, is it education, health or living standard.?
Answer to this should help us decide where to concentrate our efforts if we must alleviate poverty.

Analysis
Poorest Countries in Each Continent(UN MPI 2012)

Improving Stadard of Living by Infrastructural Investment is High Priority

Findings and Result (click to download)
In  identifying the major contributing factor to poverty, regression analysis carried out between  MPI  value and the 3 main contributing deprivation factors to poverty ranking (i.e. education, health and living standard).

We where of the assumption that education is the major factor, but result shows that Standard of Living is the must contributiing factor to world poverty.

Lets Be Real, its Time to Act
Solving the issues affecting living standards, like:
  • Electricity - Revenue generation, employment, industrialization
  • Improved Sanitation - health improvement
  • Improved Drinking Water - health improvement
  • Flooring
  • Cooking Fuel#
  • Assets ownership - mortgages, share holding in public enterprises
  • *Transportation - Rails, Road(Agriculture transportation)
  • *Agriculture - Cheaper Feeding and better health
  • *Environmental Services - better health, tourism and employment
Will go a long way in reducing poverty.

Network monitoring tool (IP traffic monitoring tool)

Network monitoring tool (IP traffic monitoring tool)

I find Colasoft Capsa useful for network and IP traffic monitoring, with both free and commercial versions, but the free version will serve you well enough, test it out. It works on the Windows O/S environment,  with a very dynamic and intuitive GUI interface.

Another beauty for network administrators is Network Mapper (Nmap)it has both CLI and GUI (Zenmap) views. Works both on Linux, Mac and Windows O/S and its Open Source systems security tool, free download and more.

Wireshark is another freely available tool for network traffic monitoring, very useful to for packets analysis and network traffic data captures, needed for further analysis.

Quants: The Alchemists of Wall Street Quants

Quants: The Alchemists of Wall Street

Quants ( also known as Quantitative Analyst) are the math wizards and computer programmers in the engine room of our global financial system who designed the financial products.
Educational background will include physics, engineering, or mathematics backgrounds rather than economics-related fields, major source of employment for people with physics and mathematics Ph.Ds. Typically, a quantitative analyst will also need extensive skills in computer programming, most commonly C++ and/or Java.

The global financial system has become increasingly dependent on mathematical models trying to quantify human (economic) behavior.

What Computer Programming Skills would a Quants(Quantitative Analyst) need?:

  • C++
  • Java
  • Python

Social Media Data Extraction Algorithms and Stock Exchange Market Effect

The use of algorithms to find patterns in massive amounts of data, executing trading decision based upon the frequency of certain keywords across millions and millions of messages, is becoming more frequent. "The incorporation of social media in these algorithms is relatively new and is therefore particularly susceptible to hacking. '
